What: Wine Tasting at Grapevine Market
When: October 10th, 2006, Tuesday
Cost: FREE for chapter members and $30 for non-members

Dear Austin Wine Society of Texas members

I want to start this message by apologizing to you all for my lack of movement in the last year. I have been coming from the perspective that I have to do everything in order for the chapter to have any activities. The fact is that this is your chapter as much as mine and I have not given you the opportunity to be a part of it.

I would like to create a place where we can all learn, enjoy, and share our love for wine. Let's build a great chapter that everyone wants to be a part of!

In that spirit, I am inviting you all to a wine tasting at Grapevine Market on October 10th, 2006. There will be no charge for chapter members and a $30 dollar fee for non-members. The purpose of the event is to get to know each other, have some great wines, and create a plan for the future of the chapter. The tasting will begin at 6:30 PM and run until 8:00 PM.

Grapevine Market's wine staff will introduce the following wines and give a bit of information on each:

Weingut Gruner Veltliner 2005 - AUSTRIA
Forefathers Sauvignon Blanc 2004 - NEW ZEALAND
Alianca DAO 2002 - PORTUGUAL
McPherson Cabernet - TEXAS
Roodeberg - SOUTH AFRICA

Served along with the wines will be fruit, breads and dessert trays and the following cheeses:

Vella Sonoma Dry Jack
5 year aged Gouda
Brillat Savarin
Chaubier Tomme
Robiola

Please RSVP with number of attendees by Friday, September 29th to bskrapits@winesocietyoftexas.org or to 10101 Mountain Quail, Austin TX 78758.

Hope to see you all there!

Bill Skrapits
Chapter Chairman
